Patna’s Defence vs Devank
Stopping Devank is Patna’s biggest challenge. With Navdeep, the league’s top tackler in Season 12, Patna have the defender most likely to do it, but even he could not prevent two 20-plus games.
Bengal’s Super Tackles
Bengal’s late run of super tackles in Match 91 nearly won the game. When Bengal’s defence works as a unit, they can match Patna’s firepower.
How the Rivalry Has Changed

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Before Season 11 Match 88 | 24 | 15 | 6 | 3 |
| Season 11 Match 88 to end of Season 12 | 3 | 2 | 1 | 0 |
| Total | 27 | 17 | 7 | 3 |
Patna won both Season 11 meetings, including a 52-31 win. Bengal’s Season 12 victory ended that run, and the narrow rematch showed a far more even contest than the overall numbers suggest.

Patna have a new head coach, Jasveer Singh, and face big retention decisions on Ayan Lohchab and Navdeep. Bengal finished last in Season 12 and need to build a defence around Devank Dalal.
